The Sól Ring - named after the Norse Goddess of the Sun. Delicate, hand-engraved sunrays surround a spectacular natural sapphire in the hue of your choice. Shown here with an exceptional, all natural, untreated padparadscha sapphire, ethically mined from the ancient gem district of Radnapura, Sri Lanka - where sapphires have been sustainably mined for over 2000 years.

Each Sól ring is handcrafted using ancient gold-smithing techniques in a timeless design. The stone setting is nestled within the ring band for a lower profile, making this ring suitable for those with an active lifestyle who prefer a solid build for a ring they can wear all the time. The ring band is a luxurious 5mm wide in the front, tapering to approximately 2.5mm at the back; for maximum comfort. Handcrafted using SCS certified recycled 14 karat gold.

If you would prefer to set up a payment plan, please email us at borealisfinejewelry@gmail.com and we will be happy to make arrangements.

Shown here with a centre stone that measures approx. 6mm in diameter and weighs in at 0.84 carats. Please note: we will custom source a similar stone for your ring after your order is placed, and can also find a sapphire in a different hue. We work with known origin, ethical sapphires from Australia, Montana, and Sri Lanka. Sapphires occur naturally in a rainbow of different colours, and can be sourced in all shapes and sizes. We will follow up with specific stone options once your order is placed. The price listed here is for a centre stone up to 1 carat in size; larger stones may incur additional charges.

The inspiration: Sól is the ancient Goddess of the Sun, and also the old Norse word meaning sun. Sól has been worshipped throughout Scandinavia for millennia, revered as the Shining God & the Bright Bride of Heaven. Her worship also extends to Germany where she was called Sunna, and throughout Celtic paganism where she was called Sulis, and in Baltic Europe where she was known as Saulė. Sunday is named after her.

In many cultures the sun is symbolic of the divine spark; as the source of all life on earth. A reminder of the great wheel of life, the cycles of creation and destruction; beginnings and endings; rebirth and renewal.

Handmade in our goldsmithing workshop on the north shore of Lake Superior, in Canada, just for you. Your talisman ships approximately 3-6 weeks after receipt of your order if it is an all gold design. If it includes a custom sourced stone, add 3 weeks. We will reach out with stone options within 3-5 business days.
